Reuben is a vibrant 21 year old youth with Down Syndrome.
Started his special education at Rainbow Centre since 9 months old, then to MINDS, APSN, AEP at DSA and vocational training at Goshen Art Gallery . He is now awaiting admission to APSN.
His journey of his dreams is a long arduous one for Reuben. There has been heart-breaking narrow escapes from serious illnesses and physiological conditions that nearly rendered him immovable. Sleep aponea is another condition he struggles with in his daily life.
Like any other typical human being, he also has his fair share of display of typical feelings of frustration, envy, selfishness and love. He hopes to get married too!Throughout his learning journey since the age of 5, he dreamed of being a stage performer and joined many performing arts programmes at DSA, VSA, nEbO, CCs and Club Rainbow to gain skills in what he loves to do basically music, dance and drama.
He has numerous performances in group dance, solo dance, drums and theatre drama. Reuben had performed in stage acting in M1 Peer Pleasure , "Nonsense" in 2017. He had also performed overseas in Thailand (2015) and Australia (2017).
Currently he is learning drumkit at Academy of Rock, Classical Dance at Ghandvara and rejoined Very SpecialTheatrics. He hopes to be a professional performing artist one day and keeps trying actively with hope.
